Having spent extensive time searching for multi-room, multi-zone audio for my project, HTD and their electronics came on top. Amplifiers get expensive the more channels you require, once you go over maybe 2-4 channels, they are crazy expensive. I didn't require much power so I choose the DMA1240, though seeing ICEpower on the 1275, I knew that HTD had good quality for a good price. The 1240 has all the features I needed plus more such as bridging and multiple inputs which allows for multitasking if you choose not to have an accompanying "matrix mixer" such as the MC 66, something I also bought.

Great product, Easy to install, Dont like that it runs hot. Needs cooling fan.

Home Theater Direct Response: The DMA-1240 is a digital amplifier but with an analog power supply. It will run slightly warmer than the DMA-1275 which includes a digital (switching) power supply. As with all amplifiers, you should still make sure the area in which it is located is well ventilated. Thanks for posting a review!

I have 10 pairs of the high definition speakers (a number of dual speaker channels) in a large house. I can have most speakers on at "home alone" volumes, and the amp stays cool.
This is a great match for the high def speakers, I cannot imagine using more power for a system without sub-woofers (although I get very respectable bass from the speakers by packing the joist spaces with fibreglass).
It just sits there and does it's job!
