I installed a pair of these in my master bath, driving them with my old school 3 generations old Sony reciever with an HTD volume control in line. My girlfriend loves music while getting ready in the morning and these deliver. They sound clear and crisp up to a pretty loud volume. I wouldn't put these in your home theater (go with HTDHD) but for ambient whole house audio they are an amazing value. A rotozip with the circle cutter attachment makes install a breeze. Pick up a cheap roll of unfaced insulation batts at the box store, a 2' piece will slide right in the hole and make a world of difference in the sound.

No better in ceiling or wall speaker can be found for the price! Been putting these in various rooms of our house for several years and had nothing but awesome results. For critical listening spend the extra and get the high def models, I tho k they have a tighter mid-range. Latest use was these multi-purpose ones in the ceiling above our master bedroom for surrounds (used high def for the fronts and in wall center). The result, simply amazing!!!! Using a Marantz SR-6005...SACD's sound just as amazing as my high dollar B&W's, just not quite as warm...but in this small of a room I actually like the sound better!!! Might one day put the high defs in to replace these, but would only be because I don't paint them and the shade of white is slightly different between these multi-purpose and the high def ones...my wife did not even notice though until I pointed it out to her:-)

When we remodeled our kitchen, we added these speakers in the ceiling. The best part was when I called HTD and asked them what I should use for this application. They were very helpful and the speakers arrived on time and wow do the sound great. My only regret is that I didn't put them in the ceiling in a few other rooms while I had the chance with the ceiling open without drywall

I purchased 5 of these in ceiling speakers for my family room. I was debating on a larger size, brand names, or the high def version. My room is roughly 20 x 20 and these speakers do a great job filling the room with rich sound. it obviously depends on the source, but these speakers do the job just fine. Seem of high quality, look great, sound great. would recommend even to the serious audiophile.
Deliver as expected. Upon installation, one of the speakers was defective. Customer service was great and sent a replacement along with prepaid ups shipping to send the broken on back.
