Comments:

My Definitive Technologies subwoofer integral amplifier blew out, so rather than replace the entire sub, I removed the integral amplifier, connected the driver directly to the binding posts, and tried powering it with this amplifier. It worked perfectly and sounds every bit as good as the DT amp.

Powers a single 10 inches located strategically in my living room, (open concept). Powerful enough to provide good bass throughout. Very satisfied.

Comments:

I ordered this sub amp when the built-in amp on my subwoofer failed. I came across HTD while researching replacement amps for my subwoofer. Instead of replacing the failed amp with the same, I decided that it might be smarter to go with a separate power amp component. That way I could upgrade the non-powered subwoofer speaker system in the future. So, despite having never heard of this company before, I decided to take a chance and ordered the 100 watt model. The amp was delivered in less than one week all the way to Manitoba, Canada. I could tell from the weight and build quality that this was a high quality piece of equipment; very good power switch, power stabalization circuitry, high quality speaker binding posts etc. There was no manual, but installation was very simple and I had it up and running in a few minutes (I had already modified the old sub speaker cabinet in preparation). The amp's output impedance is 4 ohms which matched my woofer. I don't know how the amp would react to an impedance mismatch. I had it running steady for almost two weeks (in automatic standby mode when there is no low frequency present), but after a little over one week of operation, I noticed a slight pop from the subwoofer when the main receiver was shut off. This didn't happen initially, so I don't know if it's normal or an indication of a future potential problem, but I am now trying to get into the habit of shutting off the sub amp first before the receiver. During the first week of operation I gave the sub a good workout with a DTS concert soundtrack and it performed well, adding to the low-end punch of the kick drum and rounding out the bass guitar. My goal is to reproduce music as realistically and naturally as possible with no distortion and I mainly use a subwoofer to fill out what my small 2-way fronts cannot reproduce; so far this amp seems more than sufficient for the job. I have not had a chance to test this amp thoroughly with a movie soundtrack that has a lot of low…

This unit did all it was supposed to and at a good price. My sub woofer sounds the best it ever did.

I use this amp to drive a 10" in-wall subwoofer. The sound is great and I plan to buy a second unit for another system in my bonus room.

Great amp if you do not have a powered sub. More than enough power for my family room, powers on and off with no problems. Stays on for several minutes after signal is removed. Uses about 2 watts of electricity in standby. Sounds great with either music or movies.

Comments:

Set the sub up in my bar room (converted garage). It fills the hole room! And doesn't take up space. Be sure of your layout pryer to cutting your hole. The brackets can be a little tricky.
