Have not installed this in the system I purchased it for yet as that room is still under construction. This was purchased to replace the amp in an old subwoofer. Driver and cabinet are still good. So I bolted this amp to the top. Seems to work fine when used with another audio system. One draw back was no ground on the electrical supply. I added my own while had the top off in order to attach it to the sub cabinet.

Taking the amp out of the sub-woofer box away from heat and vibration is a great idea. I re-used my 10 inch woofer from my old sub-woofer and built a box out of MDF and Baltic Birch Plywood. I used locking mitre joints and lined the inside with quilt batting. I re-used the connectors hooked it up and it sounds fantastic. Very happy I found the SDA-200 on-line.

I needed a discrete subwoofer to drive chair in a home theater. I preferred a Class D amplifier based on the low power and low heat of this type of device. I also needed an amplifier cable of delivering 100 watts. The SDA-200 met all of my needs.

Purchased a STD 200 watt amp from HTD to power my 2 10inch boston acustics in wall subs and was very impressed with the power and clarity. It's nice the amp powers off with my home theater components automatically! not to say that the price was alot less than other amps with the same response! - Nice Deal.....

This thing is small....I mean really small but it packs a wallop. And by wallop I mean room shaking bass that you can hear AND feel. I power dual 8" in-wall passive subs and this does the job quite nicely. My previous mono amp was 5 or 6 times as large and wasn't very reliable. I went through 3. This amp is quiet and cool. Becuase of its size, it looks quite attractive. I haven't had it long enough to comment on the longevity but from what I have seen so far, it's the best mono amp out there.(and trust me, I looked) Great job HTD

Works great on my passive sub woofer. My man cave is a big room and now my 7.1 surround sounds like it should and it don't power up until my receiver tells it to. great amp

Delivery was on time and just as promised. Product was easy to set up and works just great. Easy to use controls for power, volume, sensitivity, crossover, etc. Especially like the feature of having the unit turn itself ON when it senses a signal coming from the receiver, also turns OFF by the same feature. Great bass volume for sub-wolfers.

Comments:

I have been using the SDA-200 to drive my passive subwoofers (not made by HTD) for over a year, with great results. I like that it lacks a low-pass filter, since my receiver already takes care of that. I measured the power usage of this amp, and it uses just 7W when idle, or 5W in standby (which is indicated by a dimmer blue LED, not an amber LED as mentioned in the description), so it runs cool, which is nice. Looking at the internal circuitry, I confirmed that it contains an ICEpower 50ASX2 module, made by Bang & Olufsen. You can find detailed info about this module on their web site. Out of curiosity, I tried using this amp to drive a main speaker with a full-range signal, but unfortunately the higher frequencies became very degraded, so it should only be used to drive subwoofers.

Used this amp to replace the built-in amp that fried in my subwoofer. I just built a plate with a speaker terminal cup installed to replace the built in amplifier and hooked up this amplifier. Everything was straight forward and the sub sounds amazing. BTW this subwoofer was part of a Level 3 speaker system I bought 10 years ago and it still sounds amazing.
