Purchased the Mid level whole house audio system for my new house. Cannot say enough good things. Great product, great sound and easy integration and set up. Customer service is always there to help. I saved $1,000's doing a home audio system myself versus the contractor. Everything was documented well for installation. Highly recommend this company!

I just replaced an old BA system with the MCA66 system with the KC7 keypads. I bought the unit because I wanted control over my whole house audio with an APP. The system has exceeded my expectations. The sound, the APP, everything about this system is top notch! I did get one KC7 that had a crack in the screen. I emailed HTD and their response within 24 hours was the tracking information for the replacement keypad. To have a new unit shipped before they receive the old is unheard of this day and age. I believe customer service is how you get life long customers. You have one more life long loyal customer! Thanks!

Excellent product! Fits well with what I was looking for in cost and function. Easy to set up. I am able to listen to my music in the garage or back yard while my wife can listen to hers in other rooms of the house. I chose the option to purchase only what I needed (4 zones) with the capability of expanding at a later time. I look forward to being able to add other AV sources from other rooms via CAT5E.

I replaced an existing Xantech system that no longer functioned so the wiring and speakers were there. Set up was easier than I expected and the system works great. I was nervous going in and asked a lot of questions pre purchase which actually allowed me to go with a less expensive system that used some of my existing equipment. Pleased to say that great support was more than matched post purchase. I had a number of questions and responses were prompt, thoughtful and quite easy to follow. So glad I decided to do this myself!

I had the builder wire my house for audio and surround in the livingroom. I researched the market and found the MC-66. After I got it, I set it up and had a hardtime getting the zones to work. I called customer serivce and in less than ten minutes they had the system up and running. The problem was totally operator error. I love this product and customer service is the best.

Purchased the MC66SET with KC7 volume controls and all of my indoor and outdoor speakers. I was skeptical of my purchase because of the "get what you pay for" theory; I was proven that isn't the case all the time. The set is very good looking and easy to install. The few issues I had were deteremined to be due to issues on my end. Jonathan A. was very patient, professional, and eager to assit. I would highly recommend not only the product line, but the company as a whole. In a world where customer service appears to be a thing of the past, HTD.com proves they still believe it's important.

Looses audio setting after turning off

2.0

PROS

  • Cheap System Price

CONS

  • Loosing Audio Settings
  • Losing Audio Settings

BEST USES

Comments:

After very good first impressions about the sound, now big disappointment appears: The unit loses all audio settings (bass, treble, balance) in all zones (adjusted by the individual zone keypads) when a voltage dropout occurs or if the system is simple turned off. So you have to adjust the sound in all rooms on location of the keypad again...until you restart the system. The system consumes a lot of electrical energy while in standby (all zones off), so it is a waste of money when the unit still has nothing to do. For me, it is a great disappointment and the whole system is worthless for me.

Comments:

My new home construction was completed in December 2012. During the construction process I made sure to prewire for everything I'd need. I did A LOT of research into different systems out there for my WHA needs. Many were very pricey, and that's what led me to HTD. I wasn't too sure about sound quality and power but decided to take the risk in the product anyway. Usually deals this good are too good to be true. This one is an exception. I'm writing this after using the product for the past 8 months. And I use it often. Let's start with the planning process. Mike is amazing! He replied to emails in a very timely manner with fantastic suggestions and instructions. Even diagrams where applicable to assist me with the prewire (I hadn't even purchased anything yet). When it came time to order, the phone call was easy to place the order and it was shipped to my destination exactly as promised in the timeframe promised. It is a large box. But it was packed very well. I purchased a B-stock unit to save money and it still works fine. It was just a return from someone who wanted to upgrade to a lync. The only problem I had was the speaker connectors were missing but Mike got right on too of that and shipped them out as fast as he could. Again, great job! Setup was a breeze. Even using the wifi adapter was easy. Just make sure you can plug it into your router via Ethernet Cable. The unit can use up to 6 sources but I mostly just use the one I have an airport express plugged into so that I can AirPlay music. Works very well. Now after using it for the past months, I am very pleased. I honestly have no complaints. Yes the unit is large and heavy. But it just sits on a shelf for its life anyway. It's not an iPod you're sticking in your pocket. I'm actually so pleased with it, I'm installing another in my friends house under construction in a few months. So HTD, expect another order soon.

Comments:

We had our house wired for a media panel and whole house sound and surround sound. I was concerned about cutting holes in a brand new house so I paid a well respected local company who did the new construction media wiriing to install several speakers and give me a quote on finishing the project and whole house sound system. What they didn't like is I asked questions like what brand and that I didn't want expensive wall controls but still wanted digital volume controls. I guess because we have a nice custom home we were supposed to pay whatever they decided I needed and acted like I was in their way by asking questions. BTW I felt the Elan and Control4 equiptment was overpriced and the wall controls where ugly and ridiculously non-user friendly. We then had another new local home theater expert come in and give us a quote on what he thought would work. Ended up getting a quote that I had to ask be itemized, once again I got nothing but attitude but he did break down the pricing for me. The pricing was for impedance matched volume controls which I did not want and equiptment that was dated and 3 times the cost of what retailers were asking on the internet. When questioned his comment was he was "entitled to make money"!? I was done with those egomaniacs after one call to HTD! They helped me put together exactly what I wanted and answered every question I could come up with. Installation went smoothly and without any problems. From consult to order, delivery and install no problems. I ended up with a better system at a better price and EXACTLY what I wanted. Equiptment quality beat my expectations, sound quality above expectations as well. We purchased the mid level system with the mc66 and 1240, level 2 sub and center panel speakers and HD80 speakers and outdoor speakers. I'd never spend my money anywhere else after this experience. We have 6 zones and multiple sources and a theater room with a centrally located media closet. Thank you for your help, great customer…

Comments:

I bought a home that has many rooms prewired for audio. I looked into other systems (including Nuvo and Sonos). Sonos is good if you have only a couple of rooms that need audio. Nuvo has many features, but I was told it must be installed by a dealer. I found the cost of the Nuvo was many times the cost of htd products. Initially, I was a bit nervous about self install, but the folks at htd literally walked me through the install, and it turned out to be very simple. I'm very glad I stumbled upon this company's line of products. I cannot be happier.

Comments:

As a skeptic (as all engineers seem to be), I thought the reviews must have been written by a carefully selected team of HTD employees. After my purchase, I think the reviewers may even be under selling this product. It is GREAT! We use it every day. Nothing like a little Radio Margaritaville piping through the house to make you forget winter. The system is rock solid, easy to use and sounds awesome. The design is pretty open to techies like me to toy with. HTD staff (Mike S) answered all my questions, sent me drawings and even shared RS-232 decodes so I could write my own controllers. Wish all companies had that kind of interest in making their customers happy. From any room in the house, I have my choice of streaming music from 2 Droids (Bluetooth), any TV or computer. Every room in the house will have TV audio for the upcoming SuperBowl and Hockey Playoff parties! My wife never seems to grasp electronics that I set up. She figured this one out in no time. Only drawback is if she beats me home we have to listen to her music (for a while :) If you are shopping for home audio, believe all the great reviews and buy from HTD.

The system is very simple and very direct. Thing I like the most about this system is that you are not bound by complicated useless items (at leat the system I got MC-66 with KC7 keypads). I hooked up two speakers in my master bedroom and one in stereo speaker in the master bathroom. Great sound. One more thing.......GRACE radio on this system is a must! Installer was very upset (had to change the wording) because he could not find nothing wrong with system....O well his lost my gain $$$$$$$.

Comments:

I usually never rave about any products. But this one (MC66SET-KC7) is absolutely 100 percent what I was dreaming for last many years. I bough this big house about a year ago, which was pre-wired for in-ceiling speakers and wall controller with cat-5 wirings. So I started working on my own DYI project. Did a lot of research and was amazed by the variety of options available ranging upto several tens of thousands dollars. I was almost going to scrap on the idea. Bu then came across HTD, browsed their site bit too may times, the mid-level system was well under my budget, excellent reviews and honest support with the names of those people. I went ahead and bought it. First put the speakers on the ceiling (had to buy a circular saw on [...]) the speakers are so easy to install and the instructions are dumb-proof :) after I put those 12 speakers (6 zones) on, I terminated the cat-5 and installed the wall unit (Key-pads) this was even easier with the snap-in plates, also looked so precise and elegant on the wall. I was testing every zone by connecting to Onkyo, speakers sounded unreal. Believe me, I have speakercraft 7.2 in my living room and these speakers (HD-R80) were absolutely comparable with that. They looked fantastic on the ceiling too. I have big rooms so I went for the big speakers (HD-R80), it was well worth it. Connecting the amplifier and controller was easy, I connected the 2nd zone from my Onkyo to one of the input set up on the FM and then I connected my Apple Airport Express's output to another input on the controller. It was so much fun to put any music that we play on iPad or iPhone or iTunes by sending (Air Play) it to Airport express and then to HTD system. Guys.... this is one 'LETHAL COMBINATION' Apple Airport Express with HTD Mid-Level. You DO NOT NEED any other inputs. Your iPhone works as a remote using 'Air-Play'. I was never happier. I had a couple of questions and the tech support responded right away with the solution that worked first time.…
